What Is Renuvion?

The subdermal tightening enjoyed as a result of Renuvion’s J-Plasma treatment is created by the energy generated by the device. The tissue is carefully heated with radiofrequency energy and simultaneously cooled by helium plasma through a slender, hand-held wand that stimulates tissue contraction just below the skin’s surface.

When inserted under the skin, the device causes the overlying tissues to contract and tighten. They will then continue to do so over the next six months. While the skin is tightening, it will appear as though it is lifted, making this an excellent treatment for the loose skin in the upper arms either as a stand-alone procedure or in combination with liposuction.

This makes Renuvion’s J-Plasma the best skin tightening treatment compared to other devices that offer skin tightening using a single modality like ThermiTight, Profound RF, and Ultherapy.

How Does Renuvion Work?

The Renuvion handheld device consists of a long, thin metal cannula, or tube, that is inserted under the skin through small, strategically placed incisions (if performed alone) or inserted through existing incisions (if performed along with other procedures).

RF waves then energize a stream of helium, creating a precise and powerful surge of cool plasma that flows out of the tip of the device. As the device is moved back and forth across the treatment area, the cool plasma heats the underside of the skin, causing the skin to contract while simultaneously stimulating collagen production.

Am I a Good Candidate?

Healthy men and women who are frustrated with loose skin are good candidates for Renuvion. It is an excellent choice for patients who don’t want invasive surgery or the accompanying scarring and downtime.

Is There Downtime?

Like liposuction procedures, recovery after Renuvion J-Plasma is relatively easy, especially when compared to more invasive surgery. Most patients are sore for several days but able to move around easily. Dr. Rozbeh Torabi recommends not lifting anything heavy or strenuous exercise for the first two weeks after the procedure but will guide each individual patient through their recovery with frequent postoperative visits and check-ins.

A compression garment will be provided and placed immediately after the procedure. It should be worn as directed by Dr. Torabi, depending on the area treated. Most patients can return to work after three to five days
