What Happens During the Procedure?
During the procedure (which is performed under a general anesthetic), your plastic surgeon will begin by making a horizontal incision that enables him to remove excess fat and tissue from the abdomen. The fascia (the tissue beneath the skin) will be tightened, and the belly button will be brought out through a small incision and repositioned if required.
Excess skin will also be removed, and the incision along the pubic area will then be meticulously closed. This procedure results in a minor scar that falls along the bikini line for easy coverage. Depending on your aesthetic goals and the type of surgery, the procedure will take approximately 2 to 5 hours to complete.
