What Happens During the Procedure?
In most cases, ear surgery is performed under a general anesthetic. This means that you or your child will be asleep and will remain comfortable throughout the procedure. During the surgery, the skin behind the ear will be excised in the area where the ear joins the head. Dr. Rozbeh, Dr. Radbeh, or Dr. Ramyar Torabi will then sculpt the ear cartilage and shape the ear with the help of dissolvable stitches. This will allow the ear to form into a more natural, symmetrical shape once it has healed. Ear surgery is an outpatient procedure that typically takes 1 to 2 hours to complete.
