Exosomes Explained
Exosomes play a pivotal role due to their natural ability to facilitate cellular communication and repair. These small vesicles, around 30-100 nm in diameter, are released by almost all types of cells. They serve as carriers for proteins, lipids, and RNA, traveling from one cell to another, which allows them to transfer vital information between cells. Exosomes contribute to the following:
- Promoting collagen synthesis, which is fundamental for skin elasticity and strength
- Encouraging wound healing by stimulating skin cell migration and proliferation
- Facilitating tissue repair through the delivery of growth factors and other regenerative molecules
